Put Fam on your phone’s home screen
Fam isn’t an app-store app — it’s better. You install it straight from the browser: it gets its own icon, opens full-screen like any app, works offline, and updates itself.
iPhone & iPad
fam.casa · Safari
1
Open fam.casa in Safari and sign in. (Safari specifically — Chrome on iPhone can’t install to the home screen.)
2
Tap the Share button — the square with the arrow pointing up, at the bottom of Safari.
3
Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
4
Tap Add — Fam is on your home screen and opens full-screen, no browser bars.
Android
1
Open fam.casa in Chrome and sign in.
2
Tap the Install app banner when it appears — or the ⋮ menu, then Install app.
3
Confirm — Fam lands in your app drawer and on your home screen.
Mac & Windows too
On a computer, open fam.casa in Chrome or Edge and click the install icon in the address bar. Fam opens in its own window like a native app — handy for the kitchen laptop.
Things worth knowing
- Do it for every family member’s phone — Fam works best when the whole household has the icon one tap away.
- Offline: open the app with no signal and your recent lists, meals and tasks still load; changes sync when you’re back online.
- Notifications on iPhone require iOS 16.4 or newer, and Fam must be installed to the home screen rather than used in Safari. On Android, notifications work in any recent Chrome.
- Updates are automatic — there’s no app store, so there’s nothing to update manually.
Fam keeps asking you to sign in?
Make sure you’re opening the home-screen icon, not a browser bookmark — the installed app keeps you signed in far more reliably than a browser tab.
